I'm looking for a modern markdown editor with a live view and support for math blocks. For now I have used Obsidian which is free but not free as in freedom 😒

Recently installed Endeavour OS on my school laptop with their xfce styling. One thing it's lacking is the ability to do calculations on the application launcher (whisker menu). There seems to be a calculator widget but I don't want to bloat my dock. Any suggestions? :endeavouros: :xfce:

Any caveats for switching from gnome to KDE on Fedora? I read the instructions on Fedora's wiki and there didn't seem to be any. I've heard that Wayland isn't that great on KDE but I'm using Xorg anyways.

Apologies for lemmy being down for the past 12 hours. This is why: lemmy.ml/post/56267

Just casually browsing web projects and surprisingly all that use APIs have the keys exposed. One literally has a file "config.js" with export API_KEY="..." πŸ˜‚ Just a friendly reminder to protect your keys

Today I was thinking of renewing my portfolio site but then I remembered that none of my interviewers never knew of its existence or the projects within... So yeah, a tip to save some time.

Seems like I managed to break PopOs :popos: when upgrading to 20.10. I think I want to stay away from Ubuntu derivatives for now (yes arch exists, I know) so I will try out Fedora. :fedora:

Using vscodium and "markdown all in one" extension seems to be a decent solution. Except I need to export them into PDFs which needs to be done manually from automatically generated HTML files.

What should I name my script that I use to update/upgrade apt packages and update flatpaks?
Currently it's under the alias "udug" (update upgrade) but it sounds like a caveman uga buga :terminal:

Linux is finally running on the M1 Macs. I know the the guys that work at the Linux Foundation must be very happy. 😜

I'll stick with PopOs for now since I have to actually get work done. Lately I've been able to satisfy my needs to change distro just by hopping DEs. When I manage to break pop :popos: I will go for Fedora :fedora:

feed seems a lot slower than I expected. If I've understood correctly, I should be able to view stuff from other instances on Federated timeline? Maybe there's just not that much going on πŸ€”

First time on mastodon, let's see how this works out πŸ‘‹
Also, last few days of the winter holidays. Most excited for data structures and algorithms 1 πŸ˜…
